NBR® Home Care Guide + Videos

(VIDEOS COMING SOON!)

Washing

- Thoroughly brush out extensions BEFORE washing. This helps to prevent tangles and matting in wet hair.

- When brushing, hold your hair in one hand (like a ponytail) then start from the ends and work your way up, brushing down.

- If wearing multiple rows, we recommend sectioning out your bottom row before getting in the shower. Then wet and shampoo the underneath before dropping the rest of your hair and completing your shampoo.

- If going 5+ days between washes, be sure to shampoo twice.

- Shampoo gently between rows, no need for vigorous scrubbing.

- After applying your conditioner or hair masque, be sure to work it through your hair with a wide-tooth comb or wet brush.

- After washing, be sure to apply your detangler before brushing through your hair again.

Styling

- Section your natural hair from your extensions (everything above your top row), pin your natural hair up and dry your extensions FIRST, this will prevent over-drying your natural hair.

- Rough dry your extensions 90% of the way using your blow dryer and hands before using a brush to smooth and style.

- If you get blowouts elsewhere be sure to communicate to the artist styling your hair to NOT round brush extensions from wet to dry.

- When curling, you'll get the best result by matching your section size to the size of your curling iron. Smaller iron = smaller sections, larger iron = larger sections. Run your iron over the section of hair once or twice before winding your hair in from the top down.

Sleeping

- Brush nightly before going to sleep.

- Be sure to apply oil to mid-lengths and ends of extensions.

- Though not required, we recommend sleeping with your hair in some sort of protective style. A loose, high bun, low ponytail, or any braid style are all great options. Play around to figure out what works for you!

Helpful Tips

- Be sure to use a mineral based sunscreen, free from oxybenzone and/or avobenzone, and even then try to keep it off of your extensions as regular sunscreen can irreparably alter the color of your extensions (especially blondes!) making them peach or pink!

- If you notice excess tangling or hair shedding, please contact us as these can be quick fixes when addressed right away.

- When swimming with NBR we recommend leaving your hair loose, rinsing before and after with fresh water, then applying detangler and thoroughly brushing.
